My journey started 19 years ago when I put on my nursing uniform for the first time. I was known as the troublemaker. I questioned the lecturers, I questioned the managers and I questioned the processes we had to follow blindly.
Today I understand why.
I wasn’t a troublemaker. I was a problem-solver and believer in evidence-based practice. Except that, very few people want to put in the effort of fact-finding that drives informed decision-making.
So I built a business that enables people to make informed decisions without having to do the hard work.
WE do that.
I played a pivotal role in multiple projects and startup initiatives in the healthcare sector and higher-ed space. The most recent as the in-house entrepreneur and General Manager of Gradlinc, a Stellenbosch University-owned startup.
My hands-on experience in these sectors laid the foundation for my passion for innovation and data-driven decision-making. It is my vision to build a sustainable future by enabling organisations to focus on their core operations and stay relevant in a rapidly changing market.

Dr. Edward Füzy is a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon and a seasoned entrepreneur with extensive experience in both clinical and academic settings. With a medical career spanning over a decade, he started his journey as an Intern Medical Officer in Cape Town and progressed through various roles, including Emergency Medicine Medical Officer and recently completed his training as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon. Currently, he is doing a fellowship in Tumor, Sepsis and Reconstruction.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Füzy serves as the Editor-in-Chief at Equalix Journal & Publication Review Services, where he reviews research publications and ensures the highest standards of scientific integrity.
A sports and automotive enthusiast, Dr. Füzy has a strong interest in emerging technologies, particularly in augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and his adventurous sides gets a boost when he’s riding on his electric scooters. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys hands-on projects involving DIY, woodwork, and programming.

In summary, Dr. Tessa Korda is not only a skilled emergency physician with a forensic science background but also a dedicated educator. Dr. Bojan Korda is a distinguished specialist in anaesthesia and critical care. He completed his basic medical training at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2012, where he laid the foundation for a remarkable career dedicated to excellence in anaesthesia and patient care. His academic prowess is further exemplified by the medals he received for his outstanding performance in anaesthesia examinations, underscoring his commitment to the field.
Dr. Korda is not only a dual specialist in anaesthesia and critical care, but he is also the first South African to obtain the prestigious European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA), which equips him with advanced skills in pain management techniques that enhance patient recovery and comfort.
In 2024, his expertise was recognized when he was asked to chair the consultative session for the WHO resolution on the integration of emergency medical, critical care, and perioperative services at the All Africa Anaesthesia Congress held in Johannesburg.
An active contributor to the medical community, Dr. Korda has presented his research and clinical findings at both local and international congresses and workshops, sharing his insights and advancements in anaesthesia practices. After completing a BSc in Biomedical science (University of Kwa-Zulu Natal) and a BSc Honours in Medical Criminalistics (University of Pretoria) Dr Korda worked as a Biological Crime Scene Analyst. Here she developed a meticulous attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem-solving. Her work in DNA processing, evidence management, and crime scene reconstruction has equipped her with skills that are invaluable in the fast-paced and often unpredictable environment of emergency medicine. This interdisciplinary expertise enhances her ability to approach medical cases with a holistic perspective, considering both clinical and forensic dimensions when necessary. Dr. Korda’s journey from forensic science to medicine is a testament to her adaptability and her relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Dr. Danie Hugo is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a robust background in both public and private healthcare settings. With a career spanning over 20 years, Dr. Hugo has worked extensively in orthopaedics, beginning as a Medical Officer before undergoing formal orthopaedic training at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University. After qualifying, he took on his first Consultant post at Tygerberg Hospital, focusing on Paediatric Orthopaedics.
Dr. Hugo established the Orthopaedic Department at Khayelitsha District Hospital, where he served as the head of the department and lead specialist for eight years. His tenure there was marked by a commitment to optimizing orthopaedic care in a resource-limited environment and mentoring Medical Officers preparing for orthopaedic training.
Currently, Dr. Hugo practices as a trauma surgeon at Netcare N1 City and Durbanville Medi-Clinic hospitals in Cape Town, where he has performed over 15,000 orthopaedic cases. His clinical interests include general orthopaedic and paediatric trauma, particularly focusing on complex limb injuries, as well as hip and knee arthroplasty. He has also been an examiner for Orthopaedic registrar examinations at the University of Stellenbosch and has held leadership roles in the South African Orthopaedic Association.
His qualifications include an MBChB from the University of Stellenbosch, an MPhil in Sports Medicine from the University of Cape Town, an MMed in Orthopaedics, and the FC Orth qualification from the College of Medicine South Africa. He has also completed several advanced courses and fellowships in trauma, paediatric deformity correction, and arthroscopy.
Dr. Hugo is known for his analytical thinking, critical evaluation skills, diagnostic reasoning, and strategic approach to patient care. His research contributions include several published articles in respected journals, and he is a frequent presenter at medical conferences and symposia.

He enjoys sharing and transferring his knowledge and skills with people around him while building sound long-term interpersonal relationships.
His skills and experience were shaped by his exposure to start-up environments since his early twenties, working and interacting in the international corporate banking environment, co-founding and eventually handing over a private company in South Africa, and facilitating various SMMEs from ideation to incubation, rollout, growth, fund raising and scaling.
He believes in a strong work-life balance for himself, and those around him, and is driven by a desire to make the world a better place by facilitating and coaching current, future and established leaders across a wide range of industries.
